WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
A Story That Changed Everything
My name is Zsuzsa Marti, and the story behind Equine Essence began when my daughter's sport pony arrived from Germany.
Soon after his arrival, he began suffering from recurring episodes of colic. Veterinary examinations revealed severe gastric ulcers and inflammatory bowel disease, while a biopsy identified autoimmune inflammation in the intestine.
Watching a horse we loved struggle week after week made me determined to search for every possible way we could support him.
THE SEARCH
FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE TO SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH
I began studying international scientific publications, initially focusing on human research related to inflammation and immune function.
Hundreds of hours of research eventually led me to a remarkable naturally occurring compound found in mushrooms: L-ergothioneine.
From that point forward, my research became increasingly focused on ergothioneine, functional mushrooms, and the mushroom species naturally containing particularly high levels of this compound.
OUR PURPOSE
From One Horse to Many
That personal journey became the foundation of Equine Essence.
What began as a search to support one horse developed into a much bigger purpose: creating a premium organic mushroom formula that could become part of the nutritional support of other horses too.
Equine Essence brings together carefully selected functional mushrooms in an organic formula, inspired by the research that first started this journey.
Because sometimes one horse can change everything.
